Licence Applications

 

One of the first steps to obtain any type of firearms licence in Queensland is to complete a firearms safety course.

Asset College run these every Saturday at Northlakes and other areas on demand or you can look up providers in your local area.

JOINING A QUEENSLAND PISTOL CLUB REQUIREMENTS (CAT H / (CONCEALABLE)

If you're interested in joining a Queensland-approved pistol club, here are the requirements:

  1. Safety Course Certificate less than 12 months old. 
  2. If the person is not a licensee, a current Eligibility to join an approved pistol club must be obtained and submitted to the club once completed.
  3. Two character references from persons the applicant has known for at least two years.
  4. A declaration from the applicant detailing any current membership of another approved shooting club/s, or that the person is not a current member of any other approved shooting club.
  5. Club declaration - QP518A completed 28 days from date of lodgement signed by the club representative.

JOINING A QUEENSLAND HISTORICAL CLUB REQUIREMENTS (COLLECTORS LICENCE)

For a collector's licence, a current safety course certificate and a genuine reason are required, being a member of Asset Firearms and Crossbow Club meets this genuine reason.

There are further requirements that can be view on the police website. (Collectors and collecting weapons)

The Historical Society Membership Declaration - QP517 needs to be signed by the applicant and an approved club representative proving current membership.

JOINING A QUEENSLAND FIREARM CLUB REQUIREMENTS (CAT A/B)

For a standard firearms licence which will cover rim and centrefire rifles, all that is required is a current safety course certificate and a genuine reason, being a member of Asset Firearms and Crossbow Club meets this genuine reason.

 

JOINING A QUEENSLAND CROSSBOW CLUB REQUIREMENTS (CAT M)

For a standard crossbow licence, all that is required is a current safety course certificate and a genuine reason, being a member of Asset Firearms and Crossbow Club meets this genuine reason.
